facultyof the University of Illinois and is a former
member of the Count Basie Orchestra which he toured with and recorded three albums
including the Grammy Award-winning 88 Basie Street. He
also performed with Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr., Benny
Goodman, Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald, Joe Williams, Sarah
Vaughn, Rosemary Clooney, and Billy Eckstine.
